Under 10s

The little Tigers all came out on a morning that for the previous day looked like it was going to be cancelled due to the rain..

The wet ground didn't dampen their spirits in anyway though and it was a game where the top end 10's stood up and linked well through the sections from end to end...

In great leadership qualities all the top age 10 players made sure to get their younger team mates involved and everyone had a great game..

Aaron Convery led by example as this weeks captain and laid tackle after tackle and kept the pressure on all day...

Will Turner was his evasive self all game and was hard to get ahold of with ball in hand (was awarded the Captains Best Player)

Aleisha Bell may have been the smallest out there on the field but you wouldn't have known from the amount of voice that she used all day.. whether chasing the opposition down or calling for the ball she used her voice very well... (awarded Coaches Best Player)

We now have a week break before we take on Warwick / Lockyer for the first time this season at Cahill Park

Under 14s

The Tigers travelled across town, well across the valley really, to play the Bombers at Heritage Oval. After a disappointing finish to our last game the Tigers were looking for an enthusiastic start. Unfortunately this was not to be and as has been our want, the Tigers were slow out of the blocks, resulting in a handy lead to the talented Bombers side. A few positional adjustments at quarter time saw the Tigers emerge a different outfit and although the Bombers were the better side a really tight tough contest ensued. The Tigers were able to score majors in each of the last three quarters and their commitment at the contest was rewarded. While defeated the Tigers demonstrated a new level of commitment and for three quarters of the game played very well indeed.
In a team where all players stood up and had a go it is difficult to single out individual players, however Charlotte Collins and Will S excelled in the ‘tough’ stuff. Game and Lachlan had their best games of the year, Phil again was strong and Ricky S capped off a fine game with a wonderful goal. Despite the final score the coach walked away happy knowing that every member of the side really had a go. Well done Tigers. Let’s bring the effort of the the last three quarters into our next page of the season. Thanks to Manager Tabitha for all her help covering my absence at training.

ROUND 4 Tigers v Dalby-Chinchilla 13.5.17

U8's - our tiger cubs took the field today showing off their amazing skills. It was great to see the wonderful parents watch on with pride as out tiger cubs become a team.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers !

U 14’s came up against a very determined Dalby / Chinchilla outfit at Rockville Oval. The two clubs have had some tremendous games over the past two seasons and today would prove to be no different.

As has been the Tigers want of late we started slowly and Dalby asserted the early dominance and charged to an 18 point lead. The Tigers slowly began to mount a challenge and the second and third quarters were very even affairs and going into the final quarter only 3 goals behind and seemingly with the run of the game the Tigers looked to be gaining ascendancy. Unfortunately early pressure in front of the Dalby goal did not result in the score we desperately needed and it was as if the Tigers had fired their last shot and the last five minutes saw Dalby kick away.

This was a disappointing end to a very competitive game. The Tigers need to learn to play four full quarters of footy and to keep contesting hard for the ball. A few of our senior players really need to step up and lead the way in this regard.

Best for the Tigers were Sam Elliott ,who was nothing sort of tremendous and Molly whose courage and competitiveness kept us in the contest. Will M and Will S tried hard as usual and were well supported by Sam H and Tiarna. Phil again was our leading goal scorer.

Next week the Tigers will be looking for sustained effort and intensity in a tough clash against the Bombers.

ROUND 2 Tigers v Souths 29.4.17

U10s - Our under 10's this week took the field again a more physical south bombers, all tigers put in 100% at all times and did everyone proud.. they are still learning the skills but they all have a great time out there with their team mates and the bonds are really growing with all involved...

U8s - Our Tiger cubs took the field today against Souths, they showed teamwork and dedication. They are enjoying the beginning of the season and are forming wonderful friendships.
