Thank you for participating in the Darling Downs AFL Junior Footy Carnival for 2014. The Toowoomba AFC welcomes you to Rockville Oval for what will be a fantastic day. Below are some key points for the day:
All teams will play 5 games with the first game starting at 9 am, and the last game commencing at 1:30pm.
All games will commence promptly on the hour and half hour, consisting of two halves of 10 minutes each, with a three minute break in between.
There will be reserved parking for team managers in the normal car-park. This is to make it easier for managers to carry uniforms, waterbottles etc onto the grounds. Everyone else will need to find street parking unless you require disabled parking.
Supervision of players is the sole responsibility of the parent and/or carer.
At the completion of the day’s competition, all coaches will participate in a novelty 50 metre “umpire identification” foot race. The race will be run in appreciation of one of the most demanding aspects of umpiring – running backwards!!!
A short presentation will take place after the novelty race.
Please bring along some portable shade and fold up chairs– there will be limited spots available, but to ensure maximum enjoyment of the day, best to bring your own. Don't forget the sunscreen, this is traditionally the first bout of sunburn for the kids for the year so remember to slip slop slap!!
TAFC will provide a jumping castle at the carnival. Cost will be $2 per child for the jumping castle, and this will allow unlimited use throughout the day. Children will be limited to 3 minutes of jumping per time.
The usual footy fare will be available at the ground including burgers, pies, sausage rolls, hot chips, cakes, muffins, tea, coffee, water and soft drinks, as well as ice-cream, fairy floss, chocolates and lollies – all at reasonable prices.
